Peter Baker

Visiting Professor of New Testament

Peter grew up in Sydney, Australia, where he came to know the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ as a young adult. He is an ordained Anglican minister and serves as a local church pastor, where he loves preaching the good news of Jesus and seeing God’s church grow together in love. 

Peter has studied at the University of Technology, Sydney (Bachelor of Science), Moore Theological College (Bachelor of Divinity), and Durham University in the UK, where he completed a Ph.D., researching Karl Barth’s theological interpretation of biblical narrative. He has taught at Moore Theological College and Anglican Youthworks College, and served as a teaching assistant at Durham University. At Tennent, Peter teaches advanced Greek.

Peter is married to Pamela and together they have three boys: Simon, Daniel, and William. He enjoys receiving exhaustive training in building Lego and playing Minecraft under the boys’ close supervision, and also reading, playing guitar, and walking outdoors.
